Since travelling, a lot of old anxieties have resurfaced and it’s not made things easy, but then it occurred to me how many people might be held back or dream of seeing the world but think it won’t work because of similar anxieties. I feel like I am proof that we can do it🤭 If I, a 26 year old teenager, who is absolutely terrified of everything- won’t walk alone in the evenings, wouldn’t get a taxi alone, scared of bugs, scared of the dark, has awful health anxiety and an addiction to Dr. Google, claustrophobia, a history of panic attacks, IBS on an English diet, likely undiagnosed adhd, eczema, asthma, a childhood fear of tsunamis (after 2004 I grew up convinced one would hit Weymouth and wipe us all out) AND a fear of flying… can come all the way to Thailand and feel settled and actually quite safe then I hope that brings hope to anyone that struggles with similar conditions and thinks it wouldn’t work for them. Don’t get me wrong, the imposter syndrome hit me straight away and I almost felt embarrassed thinking who did I think I was, but a month in, I’m bloody doing it and I’m loving it and I’m proud🤭

And to anyone who read all that and is thinking christ poor Adam, I’d rather travel alone than with Darcy. He’s fine, he’s used to it, mind your business
